Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, neutralised a terrorist and recovered four motorcycles and other items during a dawn offensive operation in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State on 4 September 2026.
In a statement signed by Lt Col Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, troops, acting on credible intelligence about terrorists in the general area of Yantumaki Forest, conducted a coordinated offensive against them. Troops engaged the terrorists with maximum firepower, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bushes.
During exploitation of the area, troops confirmed the neutralisation of one terrorist. They recovered four motorcycles, one mobile phone and five empty intravenous drip containers, suspected to have been used in the treatment of wounded terrorists.
The successful operation further demonstrates the unwavering commitment of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to sustain pressure on terrorist networks, degrade their operational capabilities and deny them freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area. OPFY urges the general to continue to support security agencies with relevant information to enable the theatre to eradicate terrorist elements within the Joint Operations Area.
